Born in the historic town of Inwa, Burma, K.M. Nyunt (Mogok) was a visionary artist whose creative journey transcended borders and time. After earning his bachelor's degree in Science from Mandalay University in 1964, he dedicated much of his early career to shaping young minds as a senior teacher in Mogok, a role that deeply influenced his perspective on life and art.
K.M. Nyunt was an active participant in the Burmese art scene, showcasing his works in numerous group exhibitions across the country. His international debut came in 2005 when he contributed to the renowned "BEEPPU" Project in Beppu, Japan, marking a pivotal moment in his career.
In 2018, at the age of 82, he held his first solo exhibition at Suvannabhumi Art Gallery in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a testament to his lifelong passion and artistic perseverance. Though he passed away in Mogok in 2020, his legacy continued to thrive.
Posthumously, his evocative works have been celebrated in two solo exhibitions—one in Chiang Mai in 2022 and another at Artist Space Gallery. These exhibitions not only honored his artistic achievements but also introduced new audiences to the depth and vibrancy of his vision.
K.M. Nyunt's art, deeply rooted in the landscapes and emotions of Burma, remains a timeless tribute to his life and artistic spirit.
