Ashok Sinha creates large-scale photographs that capture a sense of place tied to natural and built environments.
MessageAshok Sinha is an architectural and fine art photographer whose large-scale photographs capture a sense of place tied to both natural landscapes and built environments. He fell in love with architecture while photographing Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer's masterpiece Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro on a travel assignment.
His photographs have been published by editorial outlets such as The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Interior Design, and exhibited at The Museum of the City of New York, the International Center of Photography, and The Royal Photographic Society.
Ashok drove 2,500 miles shooting Gas and Glamour, an art book of Los Angeles roadside buildings from the golden age of car culture. It was chosen by both The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Magazine as a top photo book in 2020, and The Guardian review called it “easy to get lost in nostalgia, and even escapism, looking at Sinha’s photographs.”
