Thornton has named streets and parks after Veterans. Various community groups have contributed to memorials, and an obelisk, pillar, stele, and multiple sculptures dedicated to Veterans can be found in the community.

Thanks to the Northglenn American Legion Post #22, the Thornton VFW Post #7945, the Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation, and the Thornton Arts, Sciences, and Humanities Council for their financial support,  and to countless others for helping through "in-kind" donations of free or discounted labor, supplies, and expertise.
