LUNA Fête 2015
In its second iteration, LUNA Fête expanded to multiple sites across New Orleans, illuminating Lafayette Square, Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, and Julia Street. This year our signature projection mapping installation took place on Ashé Powerhouse Theater. Created by Portugal-based OCUBO, as a collaborative youth production between Ashé Kuumba Institute participants and students from St. Martin’s Academy, the artwork featured youth and their work alongside the artwork of Terrance Osborne in a piece celebrating New Orleans culture.
“New Orleans has a celebrated history of art and architecture, and we applaud the Arts Council New Orleans for continuing to bring our architectural history to the forefront through programs like the annual LUNA Fête, which also adds another element of holiday celebration in New Orleans,” (former) New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said.
