This 8-foot tall x 24-foot wide wall hanging reflects the rich heritage of New Orleans, nestled in the crescent-shaped bend of the Mississippi River. Young has used various materials, such as cotton, linen, mohair wool, and raw fleece, interwoven to create a dynamically textured tapestry. She has also incorporated blueprinted images that depict the history, celebration, cultural and culinary spirit of New Orleans. From left to right those images are:
