Monica Yother Exhibition

Monica Yother is an artist and graphic designer who has a passion for helping others discover their own creativity. She began her art career in 1987, and since then has worked on a wide variety of creative projects, including design, illustration, and commissioned paintings. Her favorite subjects are dance and animals, especially horses. She endeavors to capture the emotion, strength and grace she observes in her subjects and listening to music is an important part of the painting process.

Ms. Yother is the brand manager and official artist for Huntsville Ballet. Since 2008 has created original paintings for each season and many individual performances. She enjoys painting animal portraits in oils and strives to show the personality as well as capture every detail. If she is not painting a commission, she is painting just for the joy of it.

Art has always been a part of her life, and she enjoys teaching others how to discover, nurture, and grow their own creativity. She loves inviting people into Studio 127 at Lowe Mill where she has had a studio for over ten years. Her classes include private art lessons, mixed media painting, abstract acrylics, and Art Journaling. Ms. Yother has been teaching art journaling for several years, and is very enthusiastic about sharing this art making with others. She believes there are many benefits to this practice, and enjoys helping people get started and comfortable with it. Most participants have never tried it before, but quickly learn to love it.
