- January 04, 2024 - February 29, 2024
Black History Month is a time to honor and recognize the many achievements, contributions, and history of African Americans. It is a month dedicated to acknowledging the profound impact that Black individuals and communities have had on the nation’s history, culture, and progress. In honor of this year’s theme for Black History Month, African Americans and the Arts, the Arts in Medicine program is pleased to showcase the photography of local business owner and artist, Dokk Savage.
Dokk Savage is a nationally published photographer, photo editor, and adjunct professor based in Alabama, Atlanta, Nashville, and Ohio. Dokk’s goal is to always inspire his clients with his high-energy and passionate approach, in addition to his skill set. His drive is fueled by his desire to make the vision of every client a reality. His craft benefits from him being a life-learner. Dokk researches information to aid in conveying the message of his clients accurately. It could be a dynamic headshot or portfolio images for a fashion model and business owner. Either end of the spectrum, his goal is to ensure his client’s story is told the way they envision it. His motto is “Stand out with your brand out.” Ultimately, Dokk wishes to use his brand as a platform to encourage aspiring photographers to allow their passion to override their fear of not fully evolving as professional photographers. He also wants to expose fellow creatives to the possibility of profiting off their passion without losing value in the process. As a teacher of the craft, he wants to teach photographers how to get the shot and create a valuable experience for their clients simultaneously. Dokk is currently developing a curriculum to facilitate monthly workshops for aspiring and professional photographers.
