Arts in Healing
Kathleen Gunning by Kathleen Gunning Image: For the love of clay. I love the process of planning, sketching, strategizing and building things with my hands. I spend a lot of time observing patterns in nature, how the light dances differently at various times of the day and year, how the surf leaves its imprint on the sand, how a bird weaves a nest, how the shadows land on my walls. This wonderment leads me to create. I have interacted with many media, however clay always calls me back. Clay is a seductress with her infinite possibilities. She is a temptress with her finicky ways. At every step of the process something can go awry. Yet, over the past 40 years I keep coming back. I wish to impart the love I feel and can spark some joy, wonderment and hope.
