I am a native North Carolinian, born in Winston-Salem and raised in the small town of Midway. My passion and interest in photography was inspired by classes I took while I was attending Guilford Technical Community College, as it was part of my studies for obtaining an Associates Degree in Graphic Arts and Advertising Design, 1986-1988. I am a photographer, gardener, crafter, wife, mother, and currently reside in Apex, NC, where I have lived for the past 23 years.
Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed some sort of creative exploration, whether it was crafts, painting, drawing or even decorating a custom themed birthday cake for one of my children, but ultimately photography became a primary source for my creative outlet. My main photographic interest is nature, featuring scenic landscapes, sunsets, macro florals and some wildlife. I enjoy traveling around my home state of NC, as well as neighboring states, with my primary focus on exploring and capturing the beauty of the scenic, Great Smoky Mountains, and beach scenes from the NC/SC coastal regions. Not only do I like capturing the artistry and beauty of nature as it is, I also like exploring the use of creative edits to inject my own personal stylized, interpretation and expression to create unique, original, photographic art.
When I am not traveling, you will often find me looking for photographic inspiration at nearby Jordan Lake State Recreation Area, chasing beautiful sunsets and moon rises, or capturing the essence of activity around the lake. My love for gardening and flowers, also provides plenty of photographic opportunities right in my own back yard.
