This is true in so many ways. Confronted by the blank canvas, one only needs to begin, but so often, for so long, the act can paralyze… I needed only to begin.

Fifty seven years ago at the age of 14, I fell in love with painting. It was then I learned about that time one could experience being lost in this creative act… Nothing has changed.

Prior to 2014 it had been forty years since I picked up a paintbrush with the intention of making a painting.

I have taken this time to forget about the structure in my life that denies me time to sit still and look at the world I live in. I have taken this time to indulge in these creative acts. These paintings are a new beginning… Galatas, Greece, 2014
