"Fangio – The Gentleman of Speed"
Great art doesn’t just decorate—it provokes. It starts conversations, challenges perceptions, and draws the eye deeper into the story behind the surface.
This large-scale original painting is a tribute to Juan Manuel Fangio, the legendary five-time Formula 1 World Champion—a man whose career still echoes as the gold standard of racing excellence. Fangio didn’t just dominate the sport—he did so with four different constructors, a feat unmatched to this day.
But his story isn't confined to podiums and checkered flags.
In 1958, on the eve of the Cuban Grand Prix, Fangio was kidnapped by Fidel Castro’s 26th of July Movement. Their aim wasn’t ransom—it was revolution. Held for 29 hours, Fangio was treated respectfully, even developing a surprising sympathy for their cause. He emerged from the ordeal with grace, and legend only grew stronger.
This painting captures both sides of the man: precision and poise, grit and diplomacy.
Bold brushstrokes echo the speed and drama of his career, while subtle layers and textures suggest the complex life beneath the helmet.
Allan Buch’s signature drips and abstract movement give the piece a modern energy—blending past and present, story and myth.
A powerful conversation piece for any car collector, racing enthusiast, or connoisseur of motorsport history.
This is more than a portrait.
It’s a celebration of a man who raced like a machine but lived like a statesman.
