Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: "You will also notice that the top of [Lamarr's] head is missing. Inside, there is an electrical component. This is meant to represent Hedy’s ease with teaching herself complicated subjects such as aerodynamics, working with war weapons and knowing how they work, and the science behind radio, making seem like she was almost programmed to do that since she was introduced to the Hollywood industry."
