Artist: Anisuzzaman
Anisuzzaman graduated in printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka in 1993. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Printmaking at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (1997), and a second Master’s at Tama Art University, Tokyo (2008). In 2004, he further enriched his practice through training at Glasgow Print Studio and London Print Studio. A recipient of the Japanese Government Monbukagakusho Scholarship (2004–2008), he has also been awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2008) and multiple Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grants (2004, 2005, 2007), among other prestigious recognitions.
His accolades include the Grand Prize at the 13th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh (2008); Best Award in Print at the 85th Shunyo-kai Art Exhibition, Japan (2008); and Honourable Mention at the 18th National Art Exhibition, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (2009), affirming his position as a leading contemporary voice in printmaking.
