2013:‘Savannah- Hope At The Grassroots’. This acrylic painting was selected by the jury for the African grandmothers and the orphans in their care, through the Stephen Lewis Foundation. Competition for acceptance, was rigorous and many worthy entries were turned away.The entries were scored based on the following criteria: Visual Aesthetic, Interest/Intrigue, Craftsmanship, and Relevance to the theme.

The selected artworks were published in the art exhibition companion books ‘Celebrating African Grandmothers, Heroes of the Continent’. The nine month exhibition toured throughout Western Canada, from June 1, 2013– Feb. 28, 2014.
