A local punter, clutching his form guide, walks past the band of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders during the Kwantung Handicap race meeting at Happy Valley in 1949. This, the biggest race day of the year, took place just before the Communists reached the border.

This genuine vintage photogravure was printed in 1952 and has the warm tones and fantastic tonal range of a platinum print. A 17 x 25 cm print, archivally mounted on 100% acid-free board and in a 11"x14" black frame.
