This is a superb, exhibition quality print and this work is in the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.. Full title "La doble máscara de Ocumichu (The Double Mask of Ocumichu), 1980". Also known as "The Unmasking in the Square" this is one of Meyer's most famous works and features the wood carved masks that Ocumichu is famed for.
A small, remote town in Michoacán, Mexico, Ocumichu is renowned for its vibrant folk art, particularly its imaginative ceramic figures and wood-carved masks. The art is characterized by its fantastical and whimsical style, featuring figures like devils, strange animals, and everyday scenes with an impish or satirical twist.
