Artist: Pedro Meyer (Mexican, b. 1935)
Pedro Meyer is a renowned Mexican photographer, born in 1935, and is a pioneer of the digital revolution in contemporary photography. He was among the first to digitally manipulate his images, famously arguing that all photographs—altered or not—are equally "true and untrue."
Meyer was the founder and president of the Consejo Mexicano de Fotografía and organizer of the first three Latin American Photography Colloquiums. He is also the founder and director of the influential photography website ZoneZero. His works, which include the groundbreaking 1991 CD-ROM I Photograph to Remember, have been widely exhibited and collected by museums worldwide, earning him a Guggenheim Fellowship and other awards.
