Fantastic image of jazz legend Chet Baker taken in Hollywood, California in 1954. This iconic photograph captures him in the studio in his prime before he began using heroin.
Baker (1929-1988) was an American jazz trumpeter and vocalist, known for his major innovations in cool jazz that led him to be nicknamed the “Prince of Cool”. His well-publicized drug habit also drove his notoriety and fame and, at times, he pawned his instruments for money to maintain his drug habit.
This is a genuine vintage photogravure, printed in 1986. Archivally mounted on 100% acid-free 11"x14" board, with artist name and signature on label verso and matted in a 16"x20" black wooden frame.
