Henri Cartier-Bresson took many images of the legendary Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti over the three decades they were friends but this is the most famous. The full title is "Alberto Giacometti à la Galerie Maeght, Paris, France, 1961" and shows Giacometti busting to set up a show in the prestigious gallery in the heart of Paris. Cartier-Bresson has captured the artist perfectly mirroring his own sculpture as he moves pieces around. Another "decisive moment" preserved for eternity.
This superb photograph looks like a rich platinum print with warm tones and a fantastic tonal range.
A genuine vintage photogravure, printed in 1962. Archivally mounted on 100% acid-free board and in a black 8"x10" wooden frame.
