Li Nan 李楠 was born in Jinan City, Shandong Province, in 1961. He was the first Chinese photographer to win a World Press Photo award, and his work has been exhibited all over the world. In addition to working as a staff photographer for various newspapers in China, he is best known for his work documenting feet-binding in rural China and in 2000 published his book “The Last Generation of Lily-footed Women in China”.
