Artist: Ansel Adams (American, 1902-1984)

Ansel Easton Adams (1902–1984) was an American photographer and environmentalist celebrated for his dramatic black-and-white landscapes of the American West, especially Yosemite National Park.
A 1916 Yosemite visit ignited his passion; abandoning piano, he pursued photography full-time. Co-founding Group f/64, he championed sharp, pure imagery and co-developed the Zone System for tonal control.
