Artist: Andy Warhol (1928-1987)
Andy Warhol, born Andrew Warhola on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was a pioneering figure in the Pop Art movement. Known for his iconic works like the Campbell's Soup Cans and Marilyn Diptych, Warhol's art explored the intersection of celebrity culture, advertising, and artistic expression. He began his career as a commercial illustrator before gaining fame in the 1960s. Warhol's New York studio, The Factory, became a hub for artists, celebrities, and intellectuals. He also ventured into filmmaking and music production. Warhol passed away on February 22, 1987, leaving a lasting impact on contemporary art. He is considered one of the most important American artists of the second half of the 20th century.
