Modern Goddess
Since the mid-1990s, my work has explored goddess energy in everyday women, drawing on archetypal psychology and the divine feminine. In 2010, I created a personal deck of archetype cards featuring traits like Compassion, Vulnerability, and Willfulness. These became a foundation for paintings grounded in feminine power.
In 2024, I was diagnosed with a progressive tremor that had quietly shaped my work for years. As fine motor control declined, my practice shifted from figurative to abstract. I chose not to resist this change—instead, I integrated the tremor into my process.
I now work with varying combinations of acrylic, patterned paper, ink, and oil pastel, using both traditional tools like brushes and palette knives, and natural materials such as water, sticks, leaves, and pinecones to create marks that reflect a balance of control and surrender. The Modern Goddess series emerges from this intersection: a visual dialogue between inner archetypes and the body’s evolving limits. These works honor imperfection, resilience, and the presence of the goddess in every woman.
