Mary Reusch painted this triptych when she was a student at Aquinas College, taking classes with Sharon Sandberg. Aquinas College acquired the paintings from her, and it became the first group of oil paintings she sold. Before that she had mostly painted in watercolor. Aquinas College later used the central painting for a postcard. Her son used it as a cover for a math book a few years later.
