I love painting the flowers from my own gardens and this Japanese peony was one of my favorites when I lived in Ontario. I played with a more vibrant background on this rendering than its sister painting "Softly", which I kept softer and more pastel.
Mounted on a gallery panel that can hang on your wall or sit on a shelf, the finish on this original watercolour is a translucent compound that acts as a protective matte topcoat. It seals and provides UV protection without compromising the original colours and eliminates the glare of glass between you and your painting.
