Messageπ¨I worked on this one for a while because it has more sentiment than some other paintings I've made.
πOn my 17th wedding anniversary, I picked these flowers in Provincetown as I walked down Commercial Street, hand-in-hand with Ondra.
πΊAt first, it was only ONE flower I intended to wear in my hair... but anyone who walks from the East end to the West end, knows it's a pretty far stretch in high heels... and that the gardens are irresistibly gorgeous in Ptown! πSo I savored the walk by smelling the flowers and collecting just a few...
As I walked, I noticed that many blooms were hanging over the sidewalk, as if begging to be enjoyed...π..so I picked them!π (My sisters said afterwards they'd kill me if it were their flowers!) π But these seemed to be SO extra and the blooms leaned toward me in the warm summer air, swaying almost romantically to be swept home. π
By the time I got to the Red Inn for dinner, I had a whole bouquet.π So I put them in the trunk of the car, wrapped together with my hair tie, and I took a photo in case they'd wilt over cocktail hour. The darkness of the trunk surrounding such vibrance looked gorgeous in the photo.πΈ It was at that moment, I knew I had to paint it (especially to remember such a wonderful, warm summer night). π
(Thank you to all those master gardeners! πThis really made me happy. )πππ
