MessageANONA NEVILLE
Anona Neville is a contemporary abstract artist whose vibrant, intuitively layered paintings blend bold color, hidden affirmations, music, and personal storytelling to create deeply meaningful works collected in homes across the United States.
Her creative journey has been shaped by a lifetime of experiences and the many places she has called home.
From the beaches of Southern California to the mountain communities of Oregon and Idaho, and from Texas and Missouri to small towns throughout California, each chapter has influenced her appreciation for color, connection, resilience, and the stories people carry with them.
Creativity has been a lifelong thread woven throughout Anona’s life. Before becoming a full-time artist, she worked in creative fields including color coordination, interior design, visual merchandising, and design. These experiences helped shape her understanding of color, composition, and the emotional impact of visual spaces.
Known for her eclectic style and joyful use of color, Anona creates original paintings inspired by music, nature, faith, resilience, and human connection. Rather than limiting herself to a single genre, she embraces artistic freedom, allowing each painting to evolve in its own unique way.
My paintings begin long before the first visible layer of paint is applied.
Before I pick up a brush, I often write positive affirmations, thoughts, prayers, and intentions directly onto the surface. While these words may disappear beneath layers of paint, I believe their energy remains part of the finished piece.
Music is often woven into my creative process, influencing the rhythm, movement, and emotion within a painting. Whether inspired by a song, a memory, a life experience, or a simple moment of joy, each piece becomes a visual story layered with meaning.
Today, I create from my home studio in Winters, California, where I continue to paint, teach, and share work that invites viewers to discover beauty, joy, and meaning beyond the visible surface.
