This one-of-a-kind triptych is created on three 6x6 inch claybord panels, each wired to hang individually or together as a vertical piece. The process itself is as layered and experimental as the final work: vegan gelatin is cooked and mixed with sumi ink, then brushed across the surface of the panels. Once dry, drawings are scratched into the gelatin skin, leaving ghostlike textures and etched marks. Oil pastels, walnut ink, and fragments of collage are built into the surface, creating luminous shifts of color and depth. The work is completed with a thick, glossy pour of resin, which seals the piece with a sense of permanence and radiance.
The result is an artwork that feels both alchemical and intimate — a surface alive with detail, where every glance reveals something new. Owning this piece means living with a story of transformation, where unconventional materials and bold experimentation have been harnessed into something strikingly elegant. It invites you to slow down, to look closely, and to rediscover its layers over time.
