The Last Quiet Light is part of my ongoing Glasscapes series of textured fused glass work. This piece combines layered glass elements with a painted surface that shifts between warm reds, oranges, and soft gold tones. I like the contrast between the loose atmospheric background and the more structured glass details built into the composition.
The surface changes throughout the day depending on the light, and the raised glass elements add depth and shadow that are hard to capture in photos. This piece is designed to bring warmth and movement into a space without overwhelming it.
I added a glass "tattoo" design on the whitewashed side of the wood panel which mimics the front and adds interest. This fused glass artwork is 24" x 6"x 2"and is ready to hang.
