This block is part of my new Nirvana collection. "Elation" was created by painting with enamels on glass then fired in my kiln. A colorful blue background creates interest, but the star of the show is the intricate surface design in black. On top of this design I layered blue and clear glass pieces and small blue glass dots for texture. I really love the way this one came out. Although the surface designs are time consuming, there is a zen quality to them. It is very relaxing creating the designs. I added a painted glass design (tattoo) on the side of the block which mimics the front and adds interest.

The block is 4"x4"x2" with whitewashed sides.
