made this as a student under Anne Iott at Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, VA in 1978. It remains one of my most successful paintings, even though i had barely begun my serious training as an artist at that point. It is my impression of a painting of the same title by Chaim Soutine. It is one of my most beloved pieces and it has been in my homes over the years, as we moved from place to place. i never get tired of it. It is just a classic abstract expressionist piece that was, is and probably always will be one of the most influential pieces of art to me. The windy trees, the movement in the sky and clouds, the movement of the path the two children are taking to get home.
