Hawthorn Skeleton I captures the fine inner structure of a hawthorn leaf once it starts to break down, leaving only its delicate veins. I stitched the branching pattern in an open, lace like form so the whole piece feels airy and weightless. Hawthorn Skeleton I and II mirror one another, reflecting the gentle asymmetry hawthorn leaves take on a branch while forming a harmonious pairing when displayed together.
