The Sunflower truly lives up to its name. Long stalks reaching up, and it's golden face following the sun.
I especially love the Native American history of sunflowers, for they saw them as a connection between people and the world around them. Nearly every piece of the flower was used from cooking to building.
Unfortunately, the expansive sunflower fields that we love to take pictures of our kids in is wreaking havoc on the soil overtime. Be a friend to the soil and plant a some pumpkin, squash or clover next to your gorgeous sunflowers! ;)
