Once a year, the tulip magnolia tree demands attention with its enticing blooms. It's all short lived and as soon as the flowers appear, they quickly fall away not to be seen again until the following spring. Each year, I try to paint the blooms because they are - just - so - enchanting. In a single scene, this painting shows the quick change of the flowers going from bud, to open and even a hint of turning brown to fall away.
