Baboons are our close relatives. Like us, their survival depends on living in hierarchical tribal groups. These baboon paintings were inspired by the work of Stanford neuroscientist Robert Sapolsky. Sapolsky informs us that predators don't bother with baboons. After sleeping in trees, and about three hours of feeding, "baboons have about a half dozen solid hours of sunlight a day to devote to being rotten to each other."
