This etching was drawn onto a copper plate during the Summer months on a trip to West Cork, Ireland. The imagery has many references to William Blake's poetry as I was reading this at the time. The etching was originally titled 'Joy & Woe are Woven fine' - a line from William Blake. Then I realised that there was not very much woe there, although there is plenty of emotion to do with travel, life by the sea and music - any tears are tears of joy!
