Inspired by a sculpture ; the medieval oak carving of Jesse in Abergavenny Priory. The sculpture would originally have included an ancestor tree carving growing from the sleeping figure. Here I have imagined a tree for Jesse based on trees growing in woodland vales in the countryside surrounding the town
