I created this painting during my artist residency with Contemporary Collective, Degree Art Gallery and Bankside Hotel. It’s inspired by local trees and a bridge I walk under daily on my way to the studio in London, at Blackfriars Road, near Southwark Station. Please note this painting is on exhibit in London until August 26, 2024.
This piece is made with acrylic on aluminum composite panel using a combination of Golden fluid acrylics and Liquitex gloss pouring medium to build up a glossy texture. The 3mm thick panel is mounted on a 15mm aluminum back frame, which is not visible from the front, allowing the painting to appear as though it's floating on the wall. The corners of the frame make it easy to hang the painting level, with adjustments possible up to 6mm.
