"Ókpàńgū is the Igbo word for Chimpanzee. Igbo is my language from Nigeria.
Sometimes I take imageries and ideas from Igbo folklore, tales, and ideology. To me the tradition of a people is important to me - especially mine - where they are good ones that can still benefit us today.
The Chimpanzee which is often compared to the human being is told about in folktales as a very cunning and intelligent animal often represented with 5 circular shapes.
Here my interest is in the intelligence - even the cunning- and how this is very much needed today for our lives. How can we make intelligent thrive? Learn from the Chimp?!
