CONCEPT:
Built Painting. Confronts the idea of ways that women are treated in some societies. There are societies in Nigeria, and elsewhere, where people have not been empowered to understand their rights as human beings.
MATERIAL:
Fabric, Used Bags, Handmade paper (from fibres I processed from the stems of some local Nigerian plants.
PROCESS/TECHNIQUE:
Sewing, Glueing, Other Construction.

By material of textile - fabric offcuts. By form of textile/clothing as can be seen in the work. By process of textile - sewing.
By my work, I am constantly working to repair and fix broken parts, alluding to the idea of reconstruction, building up, and repair.
