I love the simplicity of the basic shape of a landscape. Taking what I have and creating as much texture and color or movement within those basic shapes and lines. These paintings really show my years of a house painter with the built layers of paint, drywall mud, plaster, stains. I sanded down to show the layers of time and action taken on the pieces all within the boundary of a masked straight line to give that security of a clean edge. To finish off, I sprayed several clear coats to add depth and that final touch. It makes a complete visual object that you can run your fingers over then clean with some furniture polish. The substrate is built out of a bifold door, and the painting is finished on all edges.
