This work is a relaxation practice that stems from my background as a faux and decorative painter. I initially painted stone and marble for architectural purposes and later transitioned into teaching watercolor and other art mediums. The mark-making involved in creating cracks and veins with watercolor comes naturally to me, making the movements restful. This process helps me slow my thoughts when I start to feel overwhelmed by life's challenges. Sometimes, these works develop into a template for my scagliola artwork.
