Statement
My paintings emerge from the tension between control and surrender, where bold gestures meet delicate color relationships. Rooted in lyrical abstraction, I fuse Eastern ink traditions' fluid spontaneity with Western modernism's structural rigor, creating works that breathe between cultures.
Each canvas begins in silence—raw grounds waiting for instinct to break the surface. Colors build intuitively, layer upon layer, revealing emotional landscapes that shift with light and distance. The deep blues and fiery accents in my recent works evoke submerged currents meeting sudden illumination, while structured compositions ground this flux in tangible form.
Living between Taiwan and New York, my practice reflects perpetual migration—forms that suggest both arrival and departure, belonging and becoming. These paintings are not representations but experiences: invitations to feel color's weight, gesture's momentum, space's expansion.
The viewer's eye becomes co-creator, discovering new relationships with each encounter. My work asks: what remains when representation dissolves? What speaks when language fails? Through abstracted memory and cultural synthesis, I seek that resonant silence where painting becomes presence.
