Earthsworld Portrait Prints

These prints are reproductions of my oil painting series ‘Earthsworld portraits’ as fine art prints on Hahnemühle paper, mounted on aluminum dipond. The original paintings are 40 x 30 cm, the prints are slightly smaller at 31 x 23 cm and come in a handmade wooden frame with gallery glass. It was important to me that the prints retain the straightforward and unpretentious handcrafted character of the oil paintings. I therefore decided to have the prints float in a very simple frame made of spruce wood. The wood is lightly sanded and varnished with a chalk primer.

Earthsworld Portrait Series

A portrait series of nine works based on Earthsworld's incredibly extensive series of snapshots of people at county fairs. I've been following Earth on Instagram for a while now and am always amazed at the uniqueness of each shot. With Earth's permission, I could use this selection of nine protagonists as a reference for 40 x 30 cm oil paintings on wood panels. Many thanks to Earth for this great work and for being willing to provide his images as a reference - www.earthsworld.com or www.instagram.com/earthsworld

El Loco y El Pibe

This portrait was triggered by my memory of the highly motivated Colombian team at the 1990 World Cup in Italy. I was impressed by their bold style of playing football and competing with other teams. Many will certainly remember the two main protagonists - captain Carlos Valderrama and Goalman René Higuita.

Environmental art

This series is the next step in my climate critical paintings that will address global warming, pollution, general waste of resources, deforestation and the impact of mass consumption on the environment. Technically, I would like to continue my process of using artificial 3D objects in my painting ideas. It is important to me that these models are conceived and designed by myself. As with all my previous paintings, I will continue to use classical oil painting techniques to realise my digital sceneries.

Landscape

Here you will find all the paintings I have done, mostly in nature but also in urban environments. Working in the open air is a very special experience for a painter and I'm happy to do it as a first step towards becoming more professional. It is also important to keep going and use every single window of opportunity to get out and paint.

Observe the Obvious

When I rediscovered my painting in 2015, I was fascinated by the medium of painting itself. It was great to see the fundamental technical progress in my first works. However, I always realised that it takes more than just an appealing visual work. I wanted to be able to find my own subject matter and style. The 'Observe the Obvious' category is a group of image, all characterised by a fast and loose execution. Don't think too much - just go for it!

SUV - Sowas Unnötig Von

This series deals with the excessive consumerism of the Western world. Influenced by his work in the commercial design sector and years of experience with three-dimensional visualizations, he developed themes for his first works. Digital montages of real image material and self-created complex 3D objects form the starting point for the paintings. Familiar consumer products are brought into focus through grotesque exaggeration and opulent exaggeration. The scenes initially appear familiar because they are images of well-known products from our contemporary world. At second glance, they look strange and unreal - always far too large and pompous large and pompous - more like design studies of future lifestyle goods. Details are exaggerated, modified and satirized. What remains is the impression of classic landscape scenes in which threatening foreign bodies are spreading. The title “SUV - Sowas Unnötiges von” is a sarcastic self-interpretation of Sport Utility Vehicle in German.
