This piece was my first attempt at mixing my line drawings with this inkblot process successfully. The line drawing is of a black man with locs and in the same symmetrical fashion, this line drawing was then doubled and flipped. I worked through adding and subtracting lines to create a more visually appealing work that was inspired by nature. The layers of inkblot and watercolor paint were added to complement the drawing and add depth to the piece. After finishing the work, it looked like a beetle to me, hence the name.
