Group exhibition at the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center

Confluence

After a busy Fall and Winter, I have been less active in exhibiting my work so far this year. Instead, I have been concentrating on a series of small works on paper using a variety of media.

But I am participating in a group that’s coming up soon. I am excited to be in the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center’s third annual Spring fine art exhibition.

The show is titled Confluence refers to the relates to the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers and the junction where they meet. It features drawings, photographs, watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, created by eleven area artists.

I have three paintings in the exhibition.

There are a number of activities and events during the show, which runs from May 3 to July 26.

·      The preview reception will be on Thursday, May 1 — 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. from 2-5 pm.

·      The public opening is Saturday, May 3 — 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

·      There will also be Curator/Artists’ Tours & discussions on selected Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. — May 3, 17 and 31, June 21, July 12 & 26 register here.

·      And there will “Bodies of Water” dance performances by Naked Stark Modern Dance Company on May 3, July 12 & 26 at 12:00 and 12:30 p.m.

I will attend the preview reception on 5/1 and will also stop by the 5/3 public, visiting around 1-2 pm.

The artists in the show are Greg Brellochs, Thom Duffy, Susan Fenton, Albert Fung, Mike Geno, Jenn Hallgren, Alan Lankin, Bonnie Levinthal, Lauren Rosenthal McManus, Larry Spaid and Mickayel Thurin. The exhibition is curated By Thom Duffy under the direction of Karen Young, Director of the FWWIC.
