This still life was painted from life in my cottage studio with my "pandemic model" Lucky sitting on a rabbit skin fur. It is a traditional vanity (or vanitas) painting serving to remind viewers of their own mortality or the futility of worldly pursuits. But for me "Patience" was also a practical anatomical study of the skull.
