Artist’s Statement: In this artwork, the little girl is standing on the spiral of life in a new forest ranger outfit that she has just received in the mail. She is a daydreamer. She is so excited that the outfit has finally arrived. She has been talking about it ever since she read about forest rangers in her school reader. She wants to be a forest ranger today; however, she is always reevaluating her goals. In the background are images of various professions that she’s also interested in: a ringmaster in a circus, a master chess player, a pilot, and a scientist. I don’t want the viewer to think of her as a nuisance because she changes her profession so frequently; she dreams a lot and she wants to share her dreams with everyone she meets. I would like the viewers to expand their minds when it comes to helping children grow with their dreams. Everyone should dream as much as they can and know that they can obtain their goals.
