Artist Statement: This painting is part of a series I have been working on based on bird eggs, or Oology. These pieces are created through a process of applying paint and glazes, then burnishing each layering, while adding stencils and other biomorphic shapes to create an organic background for the eggs to nest. The eggs symbolize the pureness of nature, rebirth and the unity of the sexes.
