Artist Statement: My work has been quite varied over the years. I have been most often associated with 3-D, mixed media figurative work. However, I have also devoted much of my work to abstract expressionism and semi-abstract landscapes, many of which depict water. I am drawn to water, which has a calming, therapeutic effect on me. Color harmonies are also important in my work. Several of my works are located in hospitals.
This work was originally inspired by Sun River in Oregon but was also influenced by my walks along the San Francisco Bay shores. In times of stress or fatigue, I usually “go to the water.” It has a healing effect.
